Fees & Rebates

Please note that your child does not require a referral to see an Occupational Therapist. Motivate Kids welcome the following:

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

As outlined in the NDIS Pricing Arrangement and Price Limits.

Private Health Cover

Private health funds cover OT Assessments (code 100) and Consultations (code 200). Please contact your Private Health fund for the refund amount, if any, before your child’s first appointment.

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP Code B0135) eligibility is determined by your General Practitioner. Alternatively, a Focused Psychological Strategies Plan (FPS) eligibility is determined by your Paediatrician. These are for 10 sessions per calendar year. Your referral can only include up to 6 visits. Your OT will then write a letter to the referring medical professional requesting the remaining 4 sessions be released based on progress and future recommendations. Once a claim is made to Medicare, you will not be able to make a claim through your Private Health Insurer or NDIS for the same consultation.

Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM)

Chronic Disease Management (CDM code 10958) eligibility is determined by your General Practitioner. This is 5 sessions per calendar year, divided between two different health professionals i.e. 2 for OT and 3 for psychology. A chronic medical condition is one that has been (or is likely to be) present for six months or longer. The rebate for this plan for OT is $55.10 per service. Formerly known as Enhance Primary Care Plan. Once a claim is made to Medicare, you will not be able to make a claim through your Private Health Insurer or NDIS for the same consultation.

Medicare Safety Net

The Medicare SafetyNet provides a higher Medicare benefit. When you have a care plan and have hit your safety net, the OT service will still cost the same, however, Medicare may provide a higher benefit back which reduces your out-of-pocket expense. You must meet certain rules before you are eligible for Medicare to pay a SafetyNet benefit.

Autism Management Plan

Once a diagnosis of Autism has been made, your Paediatrician or Psychiatrist is able to write a referral for this plan. A Medicare rebate is available for children aged under 13 for up to four (4) assessment sessions and for children aged under 15 for up to twenty (20) therapy sessions. You will need to be referred to Motivate Kids by the appropriate Health Professional. The referral will often be in the form of a letter.

DCP funded supports

Some families are supported by the Department of Child Protection. Motivate Kids can provide a quote for services as requested.
Please bring a copy of any of the aforementioned plans to your child's first session if your child has been provided one by the appropriate referrer.
