Sensory Assessments

Understand your child’s world with clarity and confidence.

Every person experiences the world in their own way.

For some children, everyday moments like getting dressed, sitting still, or coping with noise can feel a little harder to navigate.

Our Sensory Assessments help families make sense of these moments. Using a play-based, evidence-informed process, we explore how your child’s senses work together to support learning, regulation, and participation, giving you a clear understanding of what helps your child thrive at home, at school, and in the community.

At Motivate Kids, we understand that every child’s sensory profile is unique. Our Sensory Assessments are designed to uncover how your child processes sensory information such as touch, movement, balance, sight, and sound and how this influences their focus, coordination, emotional regulation, and participation in everyday life.

Each assessment provides an in depth, comprehensive picture of your child’s sensory strengths and needs, helping you and your child’s support team identify practical strategies that promote comfort, confidence, and growth across different environments.

Who Sensory Assessments are best for?

Sensory Assessments are designed for children aged 3–12 years who may:`

• find certain sensations uncomfortable or overwhelming,

• struggle with concentration, focus or sitting still,

• appear constantly on the move or tire easily,

• find tasks like dressing, handwriting, or climbing tricky, or

• experience big emotions that seem hard to manage.

Families, educators, and therapists often choose a Sensory Assessment when they want seek a more in depth and comprehensive understanding as to how a child experiences the world and how to best support them in daily life.

Our Approach

At Motivate Kids, our assessments are grounded in Ayres Sensory Integration® (ASI). – a neuroscience-based framework that explains how the brain organises sensory information for learning, play, and regulation.

Each in depth assessment uses the Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration (EASI), the gold-standard, play-based tool for children aged 3–12.

Our EASI-certified occupational therapists combine this with Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM) to link results with your child’s real-world participation, ensuring every recommendation is meaningful and practical.

All assessments are delivered in our purpose-built sensory studio, designed as a calming environment for optimal engagement, and of course, fun!
