About the Role:

We have a position available for either a part-time or full-time Counsellor/Mental Health Social Worker. Your role will involve providing holistic support to families, delivering wrap-around care that addresses the diverse needs of children and their families. You will play a crucial part in creating a supportive and fun environment that nurtures emotional support and developmental growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality counselling or mental health social work services to children and families, both in-person across our studio locations.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide personalised, goal-focused care that supports each child’s emotional and developmental needs.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments, formulate treatment plans, and implement evidence-informed interventions tailored to individual and family goals.
• Provide empathetic guidance, advocacy, and resources to support families in navigating mental health and wellbeing challenges.
• Contribute to a positive, child-centred team culture that embraces creativity, clinical excellence, and innovative approaches to care.

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work
• Registration or membership with a relevant professional body (PACFA, ACA, AHPRA, AASW)
• Minimum 2–3 years Counselling experience (clinic-based experience highly regarded)
• Demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents, and families
• Strong understanding of therapeutic modalities such as CBT, ACT, play-based or trauma-informed approaches
• Full driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (with comprehensive insurance)
• Current First Aid & CPR
• RRHAN-EC, DHS Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance
• NDIS Worker Screening and vaccination compliance (as per policy)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience in administrative roles, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems

• Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and grow

Screenings & Other Requirements:

• Current Department of Human Services Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
• Senior First Aid, CPR, and Fire Warden training (desirable)
• A current full driver’s license, own vehicle, and comprehensive car insurance

• Complete documentation and assessments with support from templates and guides

• Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and reflective practice
