Pausing With Purpose: Reflecting on a Year at Motivate Kids

Child Development Team
3 August 2023

Rest is not a step away from our purpose; it’s how we return ready.

As we come to the end of another year at Motivate Kids, we find ourselves pausing, not to slow our momentum, but to breathe it all in!

Every session, conversation and shared win has reminded us why we do what we do: because we believe in ‘child first, always’. Through the year, we’ve needed to make intentional decisions to simplify, to re-establish our systems and to build what is now the strongest foundation that we’ve ever had to support children, families and their community.

Now, we’re looking ahead to a short and well-earned break. A time for rest, reflection and being with the people who matter most. Because we know that rest isn’t a pause from purpose, it’s what allows us to step forward with clarity, creativity and heart.

And when we return… we are so ready!

2026 holds so much excitement. We’ll be stepping into Preschool Boost with fresh energy, rolling out projects designed especially for our littlest ones (we can’t wait to share more), and launching new groups that build connection and skills around what our clients are genuinely interested and passionate about.

We’re growing our team with a strong focus on developing the next generation of paediatric occupational therapists – therapists who are innovative, compassionate, and ready to thoughtfully shape the future of our profession.

We’re also expanding into environmental consultations, partnering with businesses and schools to explore how environments can better support regulation, participation and wellbeing, because spaces matter, and small changes can have a big impact.

We could keep going… but for now, we’ll simply say: watch this space.

So as the year draws to a close, take a beautiful deep breath with us. Rest. Reset. And get ready. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and meaningful moments with those you hold dear. We can’t wait to step into what’s next, together!

Sport isn’t about performance – it’s about participation

Your child doesn’t need to be training for gold to benefit from sport-based movement.

From an OT perspective, it’s not about how well a child performs, but about having opportunities to move. Whether it’s kicking a ball, gliding on socks across the floor, or tossing beanbags during an ad break, all movement counts.
