Children can experience very different things across different environments. What feels manageable in the therapy room might be harder in a busy classroom, during group time, in the playground or when moving through the routines of the day.
School Connect and ELC Connect give your child’s OT the opportunity to see them in their everyday learning environment, understand what’s working well and where things might be getting tricky, and work alongside educators to find practical ways to support them.
What we learn can then be brought back into your child’s ongoing therapy, helping create greater consistency across the people and places that are part of their world.
Sometimes the best way to understand what’s happening is to see it where it’s happening.
Seeing the Whole Picture
During a School Connect or ELC Connect visit, your OT will spend time observing your child within their usual learning environment and talking with their educators about what they’re seeing.

School Connect and ELC Connect are collaborative and consultative. Your OT works alongside educators, respecting their knowledge of your child and their learning environment, while bringing an occupational therapy perspective to what might help.
